We are excited to announce Hoffman York is one of seven finalists for PR Daily’s Media Relations Awards 2015 in the Best Brand Messaging or Positioning category for our Winning the Series with Facial Hair campaign.

The award-worthy effort for client Wahl Grooming involved teaming up with STATS, the world’s top sports analytics company, to prove—ready for this—that MLB players with facial hair perform better than their clean-shaven counterparts. The verdict: facial hair wins—and by more than a whisker. As if that wasn’t newsworthy enough, we targeted the game’s biggest stage to reveal the results.

The World Series happens every year like clockwork, and each year sports media predict who they think will win. To help them more accurately pick the winner, we packaged our research into a fun infographic and shared it with them heading into the post-season.

The campaign was a homerun (pun intended), resulting in 65 million public relations impressions and 312 placements in major publications including the Washington Post, Sports Illustrated, Men’s Health, Bloomberg Sports and LA Times. Inherently shareable, the campaign soared on social media, with coverage from MBL the Show, Sports Illustrated, Baseball Guys Ray Flowers, Yahoo Sports and more.

PR Daily’s Media Relations Awards 2015 are judged by the editorial staff of Ragan.com, PR Daily, HR Communicator and Health Care Communications News. The winners will be announced in late September.

Say hello.
